Yummy Mummy Winter Wardrobe

I often get asked for outfit ideas for specific occassions so Im going to start dedicating some weekend posts to these.

First up is for my wonderful besty Cat.
Beautiful bridesmaid at my wedding :-)

With 3 gorgeous boys to look after, Cat wants to revamp her wardrobe to be more yummy than Mummy!
So, the aim of the game is a capsule wardrobe to mix and match during the week - with a few special pieces for the weekend....

Casual day wear...

My favourite look at the moment is definitely layering tshirts/vests and fine knits over leggings. Keep this up to date with wetlook/leather leggings and ankle boots. This Miss Selfridge cover-up looks great belted at the waist, or left open - I have it in black and it comes in animal print too!

Miss Selfridge £32
Topshop £32
River Island £25
Report boots @ ASOS £120

I love these two looks below from H&M. A check shirt is an Autumn staple and can be worn so many different ways.
And Cat, get those AMAZING legs out in some denim shorts! Primarn will do some for under a tenner, or chop up a pair of old jeans - that way you can control how high cut they are.

Speaking of shorts, they are a surprisingly versatile piece - dress these down with a tshirt, knitwear and ankle boots during the day, then glam them up with heels in the evening. Go for a slightly longer length which are not only more flattering, they don't look slutty. After all, we're 30, not 13!

ASOS have a great selection as always and this printed pair are £34 from Topshop. If you're feeling brave, why not go for a leather pair!

Dresses!
Now that it's officially cold enough to wear tights, dresses are perfect for throwing a quick outift together. All it takes is a few carefully placed accessories and you can turn these babies from comfy day wear to hot Mamma party wear!

This cute peter pan collar dress would look fab with some coloured tights and loafer/ballet flats for the daytime(think Alexa Chung). But add a bit of make-up, a coloured clutch and some heeled boots and your good to go for a night out. The same can be applied to this gorgeous Mango dress (check out the website to better appreciate the colours)

River Island £45
Mango £42.90 (!?)

Dress down your, erm, dresses by belting a cardie over the top. This River Island one would give a new lease of life to most summer dresses - just add tights and boots. It comes in 5 colours too.

River Island £38

Tops
Now you are back in your skinnies (yay!) you can show off those legs with some great blouses and shirts. Either tuck them in and finish off with a skinny belt, or keep them loose.

Miss Selfridge and New Look both have great selections right now and blouses are a good place to get some nice, floaty chiffon into your wardrobe... These are both £35 at Miss S and would look awesome with some coloured skinnies or trousers - as well as shorts.

River Island £40
ASOS Trousers £40

Last but not least SHOES!!
These either go with everything above - or nothing at all. But, they are amazing so who cares!

I love these!! ASOS £81

River Island loafer £40

Aldo £110

Topshop beauties £78

So... I hope thats given you some ideas! If you need more inspiration, websites like Chictopia and the brilliant WIWT feature real people and their outfits - they should also link you back to the product online if it's available.

Love,
Siân xx
